Requirements

  • Qualified accountant/ controller
  • Very high level of English
  • Based in Amsterdam, minimum 3dpw in the office
  • Flexible and comfortable working with deadlines
  • Experience of a corporate accounting system
  • Strong excel skills

Mission

As a Project Controller, you will be the work closely with the Program Directors and Finance Coordinators to control the finances of the client projects. You will be responsible for the project accounting, recognising revenue and understanding the costs, ensuring projects are billed on a timely basis. With increasing experience you will become more involved in management reporting or client pricing and negotiation support.

 

Your responsibilities are to:

  • Liaison with internal teams to obtain percentage estimates and amount of fees completed each month.
  • Approval and review of project related costs to ensure both projected and within budget and investigation of any variances highlighted to internal teams
  • Processing of journals and review of balance sheet through liaison with the Adelphi Group Accounts and UK Shared Service Team
  • Analysis of Work In Progress to ensure all client projects are profitable
  • Analysis of the project recovery and discussion with account leads to try and improve additional work over and above the project budget
  • Monitoring of unbilled WIP and client advances and reconciliation to ensure amounts unbilled are kept as low as possible
  • Review of P&L figures and confirming approval of balances initially through liaison with the Adelphi Group Accounts central and UK Shared Service Team
  • Review of client agreements to ensure commercial terms are acceptable, liaising with Omnicom Compliance, insurance and legal teams to ensure legal terms are appropriate

  • Have an indepth knowledge of the accounting processes and a good understanding of the client terms and conditions
  • Be able to highlight reporting variances, accounting problems or project profitability issues, to clearly explain findings and work with colleagues to a resolve issues
  • Take initiative and demonstrate persistence to resolve issues
  • Understand the services we deliver and their associated budgets
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve processes and share best practices

Your team expects you to:

  • Be a trusted professional, advising the Program Directors and Finance Manager
  • Work autonomously, managing your time and priorities under tight deadlines
  • Work with a high volume of complex data whilst being able to have an analytical view
  • Communicate to internal and to external clients in a professional and effective way
  • Use your knowledge and expertise to train and coach less qualified or experienced members
  • Provide ad-hoc financial support and consultancy to the Finance team and Senior Management
