Engagement Group: Director of Digital & Engagement



This is an exciting new role in Adelphi in Healthcare’s Engagement Group for an experienced digital leader with 7 years’ experience in the medical communications or commercial healthcare sectors, to be part of our growing group of digital communications experts shaping the future of the industry. You are an ambitious and accomplished digital expert with a wide range of experience encompassing digital strategy and channel engagement, data and insights, and communications platform planning. You will love leading discussions about new technologies and supporting the delivery of innovative digital platforms, with some technical skills. You will be leading the development of digital engagement strategies with our accounts and business development teams and working with our global design studio to define and deliver best in class digital communications.

Job Purpose

To embed digital best practices across our agency teams and client projects, and support client teams to proactively provide digital innovation for global pharmaceutical clients. And to drive and deliver digital impact as part of Adelphi in Healthcare.

Outline Job Role

  • Lead the development of digital strategy for medical communications audiences, in close collaboration with agency teams.
  • Establish collaborative processes and relationships to ensure the delivery of best in class digital deliverables, in partnership with the global creative studio.
  • Provide technical consulting knowledge to clients and internal teams on the use and development of digital and tech platforms for medical communications (including online educational hubs, Veeva Medical, interactive posters, QR code solutions, and emerging tech vendors)
  • Support the definition and application of market and audience insights, journey planning, content strategy, omnichannel strategy, tactical planning, creative briefing, digital production and delivery, and measurement planning and delivery for medical communications and strategic publications planning.
  • Provide knowledge, learning, and ideation on a full range of emerging digital and innovation skillsets, including social media strategy, influencer strategy, content hub design and build, planning for hybrid events and medical congresses, CLM (Veeva), data visualization, interactive video, and eLearning.
  • Collaborate with a mutli-skilled team, to deliver digital strategy for business development, internal learning and thought leadership. Develop internal team training and engagement workshops for client teams.
  • Lead on
  • Delivery of digital engagement planning and digital platform builds.
  • Development of digital account plans
  • Supporting with development of innovation roadmap and internal workstreams
  • Presenting at conferences and representing the innovation group as a thought leader
  • Supplier liaison to ensure integration of innovative platforms and quality freelance and supplier relationships.
  • Manage your own workflow within agency project teams. Ensuring delivery of projects is balanced between internal and external resources.
  • Produce successful digital projects worthy of industry awards.
  • Post is full-time, remote working with some travel required to our offices in London, Bollington, and Amsterdam.

Experience Required

Working knowledge across digital delivery channels and media.

Experience of working in a creative digital environment and of omnichannel communication programmes. A proven record of successfully delivering client projects with an attention to detail and follow through.

You need to be creative and own your opinions, whilst being able to explain your approach to the agency teams.

You are proactive, self-motivated and well-structured. Your motivation is to make the digital projects a leading contributor in the success of the agency teams. Flexibility and a hunger to take up new projects in a rapidly changing environment with lots of moving tasks.

  • To work well with external suppliers, freelancers and senior contractors.
  • Ability to bring creative design and flair to the development of digital projects

We have offices close to the vibrant cities of Amsterdam, London, Manchester and New York. While our teams are increasingly working from home in other locations, we anticipate periodic visits to central office locations to be needed when travel resumes.
